Chassidic and Kabbalistic commentary on the Siddur, by R. Chaim of Chernowitz (1740-1817), one of the greatest Chassidic masters and author of the classic Chassidic seforim Sidduro Shel Shabbos and Be’er Mayim Chaim. The sefer was published by the renowned Tzaddik R. Tzvi Gershon of Butshan who writes in the introduction that he heard from his Rebbe, R. Chaim of Chernowitz, that the distribution of this Sefer will hasten the redemption. With many mystical secrets, this sefer is one of the fundamental Sifrei Chasidus regarding Tefilah.
At the beginning of the sefer there is a long responsa from the author responding to some of the criticisms of the Noda B’Yehuda regarding Chassidic customs, particularly with regard to the recital of “L’shem Yichud” and the Nussach Ha’Tefilah. This discussion was a matter of great contention between the Chasidim and Misnagdim, and these pages are lacking in many copies.
R. Avrohom Chaim Roth (1924-2012), was the son of the famed R. Aaron Roth who was the founding Rebbe of the “Chevra Shomrei Emunim”. Following his father’s passing in 1946 he succeeded his father as Shomrei Emunim Rebbe. He founded Kiryas Shomrei Emunim in Yerusholayim and served as a Rebbe for over 65 years! Particularly renowned for his piety and fervent prayers.
