Edus Hashem Ne'emonah. Polemic. Chevron 1862. Unrecorded. Extremely Rare!
Polemic regarding the financial support from the Diaspora for Jewish Community of Chevron.
Unrecorded publication relating to the controversy over the distribution of funds among the Jewish community members in nineteenth century Chevron. This was a response to the pamphlet Shever Poshim by R. Yehuda Papo, published by R. Yisroel Bak in Yerusholayim 1862. That was itself a response to an earlier polemic pamphlet titled Edus B’Yehosef. This sharply worded publication was sent by post (see the example of the very early Palestine postmark on the document) to the various communities that supported the Chevron Jews. It was signed by 24 senior members of the Chevron community, including members of the well-known Castel, Carregal and Turgeman families.
Unrecorded.
2 pages. 29 cm. Excellent condition.
