Talmud Bavli, complete set, copy of the artist Herman Struck. Dihrenport. 1800-1803. The first Shas printed with the Masoret HaShas. Some of the volumes bears a listing of ownership of Herman Struck’s grandfather, Rav Shlomo Michael Struck, the son-in-law of Rav Avraham Eiger—eldest son of the Gaon Rabbi Akiva Eiger. Extremely rare item.
Printed after the death of Rav Yeshaya Fik Berlin (1799), for the first time with his commentary Masoret HaShas. Some of the volumes include a few masechtot, the first cover at the beginning of each volume are printed in red ink, and each masechet of each volume has a separate cover. At the beginning of each volume, on the cover page, is an official stamp of the artist Herman Struck. There is also a handwritten signature on every volume by an unidentified rabbinical figure. Some of the volumes also have a handwritten listing of the name “Shlomo Michael,” which shows that this Shas was owned by Herman Struck’s grandfather, Rav Shlomo Michael Struck, and from whom Herman Struck seemingly inherited the Shas. In Masechet Yomah there are two handwritten notes by an unidentified author, and there is also a handwritten note in Sanhedrin 43:71. The volumes are in different conditions: Bad/Ok/Good.
