Book by Rabbi Aharon ben Everly Virmash (Aharon Wermes of Mitz), dealing with interpreting the Talmud. With dedication from the third son of the Admor (2nd) Sfat Emet of Gur, Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh Leib Alter, brother of the 3rd Admor of Gur, Rabbi Avraham Mordechai Alter (the Imrei Emet), and father-in-law of the 5th Admor of Gur, Rabbi Simcha Bonim Alter, the Lev Simcha. Served as head of the Sfat Emet yeshiva in Jerusalem. At the beginning of WWII he fled with many other Jews to central Poland and reached Luvitch, next to Warsaw, where he was taken by the Nazis. The Nazis began to cut the Jews’ beards, and when they reached him he began to scream and, wonderously, they left him alone. When he was in the Warsaw Ghetto he was happy during all of the events and never complained. When his family managed to get a little bread he would tell them to save it for Shabbat. A little before his death he declared “If it is impossible to achieve deliverance for all of Israel, what is all this for.” Rabbi Aharon ben Everley Virmash (Aharon Wermes of Mitz) lived 1754-1836, was a student of the Sha’agat Aryeh, a dayan in Belz, Mitz, and head of the yeshiva in Mitz. Authored the series of books Meorei Or, and was named after them. Member of the Napoleon Sanhedrin, 1808. Printer: Moshe May. [1], 192 pages. 20cm. Generally ok to good condition. Binding disconnected. Moth damage.
