Manucript. Letter from Rabbi Yosef Shmuel Adler of Poprad, 1944
Letter handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yosef Shmuel Adler of Poprad. The letter contains a confirmation to the addressee, Mr. Ehrenreich, that his brother, Rabbi Aharon Ehrenreich, studied the art of ritual slaughter with him.
The gaon Rabbi Yosef Shmuel Adler was the son of Rabbi Yoav Adler from Hanshowitz and a student of the Pressburg yeshivah. He succeeded his father-in-law, Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Prager, in the Poprad rabbinate from 1942 until he was killed in the Holocaust in 1944.
