Blood Contract - Placard Opposing Yitzchak Rabin and the Oslo Accords. Israel, 1990s
Poster with pictures of 130 Jews who were murdered by Palestinians after the signing of the Oslo Accords. At center is the famous picture of the Olso accords signed in 1993 depicting the belated Yitzchak Rabin shaking hands with Arafat under the auspices of American president Bill Clinton.
The photograph in the center of the poster is from the signing ceremony which took place on September 13, 1993. In the framework of the agreement, Israel recognized the PLO as the representative of the Palestinian people. It was also decided that Israel would withdraw from Palestinian settlements in the Gaza strip and the Jericho region, and the establishment of the interim Palestinian Authority for a period of five years. After the agreement was signed, and as a result of the IDF withdrawal from certain territories, terrorist attacks against Jews increased, both in the areas of Judea and Samaria and in the center of the State of Israel. These events greatly increased the opposition of the Israeli right. This poster which was distributed by right-wing activists directly attributed the murdered of that period [including soldiers on active duty] to the Oslo accords, which, according to them, achieved the opposite result, and allowed more favorable conditions for terrorists to carry out attacks in Israeli territory.
70x100 cm. Very fine condition.
