Open Protest against the Insult to the Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Kook's Honor on Behalf of Jerusalem's Old Yishuv, 1933

Open protest by the administrators of the Torah and chessed institutions and Chareidi Jewry of Jerusalem against matters printed in the Kol Yisrael newspaper which were insulting to Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Kook's honor, signed by Rabbi Yechiel Michel Tukochinsky, Rabbi Zalman Zeleznik, Rabbi Yitzchak Yaakov Wachtfogel and others. Jerusalem 1933. Solomon Press.

All of the heads of the chareidi institutions of Jerusalem have gathered together, the pillars of the old Yishuv in the Holy Land, with a view of anticipated danger to the existence of Torah and its rule by the deeds of a gang of youths with no conscience or feelings of responsibility, lacking any spark of honor for the Torah, who with their hate and envy of Torah leaders and those who study it in purity ... waged a war of indignation against the rabbis of Jerusalem, its geonim and tzaddikim ... against the righteous gaon Rabbi Avraham Yizchak HaKohen Kook Shlit"a ... great is the shame ... we have a holy obligation to denounce the perpetrators in public, and to remove the disgrace of the deeds of these destroyers of the holy city ..."

On the reverse of the leaflet, there is an additional inscription under the title "Encouraging Letter" to the administrators of the institutions in Jerusalem regarding "A quarrelsome gang" - the administrators of the Kol Yisrael newspaper who assisted the publication of the matters insulting Rabbi Kook's honor. An interesting detail to note is that the heads of the old yishuv who generally opposed Rabbi Kook's ways refer to him here as "Our Rabbi the Gaon."
