Three Kibbutz Haggadot - Kibbutz Ginegar - 1945, 1948, 1952

Three non-traditional haggadot - Kibbutz Ginegar.

* Ginegar 1945 - stencil print with illustrations. Many original texts, including some that refer to the Holocaust of European Jewry: "In all your ways, I hear steps, my brothers, in the swamps, in the paths and forests! ... chased by flames, epidemic and fear, in rain, snow, and storms ... everywhere I stand I hear misfortune, my brothers in solitary confinement, in the cell of darkness! ... in the camp of torture, in the pit of spirits ... my brethren who are herded to slaughter! ... and every person will be prosecuted for their deaths, and the heavens above will yet descend to mourn for them, and the entire world will be a tombstone on their graves ..." Detached binding. Tears in the margins of the binding with loss - not affecting text. Otherwise, fine condition.

* Ginegar - [1948]. Stencil print with illustrations. Includes texts that refer to Holocaust survivors: "And who are you the world with heavy steps? - a survivor. One I remain on the day of murder, from father and mother, brothers and sisters ... who ... treads here? One who escaped hanging ..." In addition, there are original passages regarding the heroics of the fighters after the Holocaust: "Those who go out with weapons to war are those who love their lives much more than those who don't go out with their swords, and they are happy...." Followed by an original text, "Tefillah L'Maarchot" ["Prayer for Battle"]: "This time we have strengthened and become bold, and don't allow us to cry for the glory of the young men and compassion of the young girls, we have said we will see the consolation - and now this land has swallowed them ..." and more. Very fine condition.

* Ginegar [1952]. Stencil print with illustrations. Original passages emphasizing the Jewish nation's freedom in its Land. Very fine condition.

Kibbutz Ginegar was established at the north end of the Jezereel Valley, near Migdal HaEmek. It was named after the city Nagnager mentioned in the Talmud, the hometown of Rabbi Yochanan Ben Nuri. The ancient name was apparently preserved by the Arabs who called their town in the area Jinjar. The kibbutz was established in 1922, the year that its land was officially transferred to the JNF (preparation of the land had already begun in 1916). Its founders were Russian and Polish immigrants from the third wave of immigration who wanted to establish Degania III.
