"Children Like You, Tens of Thousands, are being Executed, Convoy after Convoy ... Help us, Lend your Hand to Rescue our Nation" Children's Petition in the Land of Israel upon our Brothers' Bloodshed, at the Peak of the Holocaust. Jerusalem 1943

Children in the Land of Israel's petition upon our brothers' bloodshed, 15/6/1943, the National Committee for Knesset Yisrael in the Land of Israel. Petition in which the children of the Land of Israel turn to the children of the nations with a request for assistance in face of the mass murder taking place at the time by the Nazis in occupied Europe. "We, the children of the Land of Israel, living a free and quiet life in our Land, listen with heartfelt anxiety to what is being done every day, every hour, to our brothers and sisters in exile. Every morning, while we go satiated and bathed, to our schools and to our workshops, we are accompanied by the shadows of the thousands and tens of thousands of our  people's children led to slaughter - for what? Why? And in the still of the night, while we lie in bed, the cries and screams of masses of murdered and slaughtered children break through seas and countries - Until when? For what? And why the slaughter of small children who have not sinned and done no evil?..."

The children then turn to the children of the nations of the world with the appeal: "Today we call from afar to each boy and girl in every nation and state ... You, children of the nations fighting for a life of peace and freedom, stand still for a moment, listen! Children like you, tens of thousands upon tens of thousands, are being executed, convoy after convoy ... help us, lend your hands to rescue our nation. Don't hesitate!"

First grade students of the Tachkemoni school in Jerusalem and their teacher Malkah Shimoni signed the petition in pencil.
