A letter signed by 52 rabbis of Jerusalem, in a huge protest against the Ashkenazi city council, which wants to connect with the National Committee.
In this letter, written in the month of Nisan 1935, the rabbis protest against the Ashkenazi city council that sought to connect with the National Committee, which was the executive branch of the British Parliament during the British Mandate, and was elected by the members of the Assembly of Representatives in 1920 This began its activity.
In 1928 it was recognized by the British Mandate and served as the representative of the Jewish community. Agudat Israel and the ultra-Orthodox community objected to the committee, which refused to participate in the committee because of general opposition to Zionism, and disagreements about Jewish ritual and slaughter.
