Letter from the Mashgiach Rabbi Eliyahu Eliezer Dessler - "Michtav M'Eliyahu".
Letter by Rabbi Eliyahu Eliezer Dessler to 'My friend, Rabbi Eliyahu Eliezer' [Skolski].
The letter deals with personal matters. No date.
Rabbi Eliyahu Eliezer Dessler (1892 - 1953), a member of the Beit Midrash of Kelm, one of the founders of the Beit Midrash and one of the great leaders of the Mussar movement. He served as rabbi in England, and as a supervisor at the Gateshead Yeshiva in England and at the Ponevezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak. His deep conversations on the foundations of morality, Kabbalah, and Hasidism were printed by his students in Sefer Sichot ve-Ma'amarim, in the five volumes of "Michtav M'Eliyahu" and in the "Sefer Ha'Zhkaron Michtav M'Eliyahu".
Rabbi Eliyahu Eliezer Skolski, one of the leaders of the Adass Yisroel congregation in London. Born in Vilna, a descendant of Rabbi Eliyahu Eliezer Grodnansky of Vilna Rabbis (son-in-law of Rabbi Yisrael Salant, son-in-law of Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski and Rabbi Reuven Dov Dessler). He worked extensively in the study of the Hebrew book and was in close contact with rabbis and scholars in England and around the world. A close friend of his famous cousin Rabbi Eliyahu Eliezer Dessler, "Michtav M'Eliyahu," helped him when he arrived in London, and even took care of him at the time as a rabbi in Dulston.
