At the time of the present letter John II is King of Navarre through his wife, and would become King of Aragon three years later when his brother King Alfonso V died in 1458. John II, in his capacity as Governor and Lieutenant of his brother the King, instructs the Xativa justice department to declare null the decisions taken regarding Mr. Sallent and the death of a moor, and recommends that in future they do not interfere and disturb Mr. Sallent.
