Beit Avraham by the Admor Rabbi Avraham of Chechnov, first edition—with letter and poem handwritten by the author’s grandson.
Chiddushei halachot and sugiyot of Shas, Rambam, and other poskim. Printed by A. Shriptegisser, Warsaw 1899. Donor page has a long poem handwritten with an acrostic and signature by the author’s grandson. Among the book’s pages is a letter written in 1927, signed by the grandson with a dedication of the book to his friend for his wedding. | Rabbi Avraham Landau (1784-1875) was the rabbi of Chechnov, a posek, Admor, and forefather of the Strikov Chassidic line. Considered a gaon and an important rabbi of his generation, and his halachic ideas carried a great deal of weight. Rabbi Akiva Eiger would stand whenever he was mentioned, and the Rebbe of Kotzk said that he and Rebbe Yitzhak Meir of Gur were the two ministers of Torah in their generation. | Three covers, one on green paper. Moth holes. | 95 pages. 24cm. Generally good condition.
