Seventeen unique items from the first years of Ha'Edah Ha'Charedit of Jerusalem [the 1920's and onwards]. Include several printed proclamations and documents which are most likely bibliographically unknown. Valuable material for the history of the Old Yishuv and the establishment of the Torah world in the land of Israel.
A proclamation against the participation of women in the elections: both being elected and voting. By Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld and the rabbis of Badatz Ha'Edah Ha'Charedit. Hebrew and Yiddisg. Sharp content, against the referendum that was suggested as a solution to the controversy regarding the matter: "You who strive to wreak havoc and cause Israel to sin like the advice of the evil Balaam, we tell you fear the God of Israel …". 42cm. Condition: Good. Small pen inscriptions on the margins.
A rare polemic proclamation about Kollel Shomrei Ha'Chomot. Contains the printed letters of Rabbi Ya'akov Meir and Rabbi Yosef Chaim Somnenfeld. Moriyah printing press. 42x31cm. Condition: Fair-Good. An ink inscription on the lower part of the proclamation: "To our brother in the Diaspora…"
The list of representatives of the committee of Ha;Edah Ha'Charedit, with handwritten pencil additions. 23cm. Condition: Good. A tear with omission in the margins with no damage to text.
Ticket regarding a donation to Ha'Edah Ha'Charedit the City Committee of the Ashkenazic community. With a filling out of details handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yerucham Fischel Bernstein, Dayan of the Badatz. Condition: Good.
A decision that was made during a gathering of the Ashkenazic City Committee. A handwritten leaf from 1922. "A group of thugs was impudent enough to threaten the Haredi leaders and attacked the chairman of the committee". Condition: Good. Tears.
An official handwritten letter by the election committee of Ha'Edah Ha'Charedit about the importance of the elections. Adar B 1919. An extremely rare historical document. Orange paper. Condition: Good. Filing holes that have broadened.
Handwritten letter on the official stationery of Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld to the rabbis of the executive committee of Agudat Yisrael. Most likely written by his secretary. With handwritten pencil additions and corrections. The content of the letter: sending Jerusalemit representatives to the congress of Agudat Yisrael, 1923. Very important historical item!
And nine additional letters with fascinating, important content by the rabbis and secretaries of Ha'Edah Ha'Charedit. the 1920's. Some of them are handwritten and some are stencil printed (maybe copies?).
