Shoresh Yishai, commentary on Megillat Ruth, by author and renowned kabbalist Rabbi Shlomo Alkabetz, famed for his Lecha Dodi hymn.
96 leaves. Thick paper, 20 cm. Includes the text of Megillat Ruth. Lengthy glosses in an antiquated Italian hand.
Rabbi Shlomo Alkabetz (1500-1576) known for his Lecha Dodi hymn, printed this book during his lifetime. Among other works, he wrote commentaries on the megillot: Menot HaLevi on Megillat Esther (he presented it to his fiancée's family in place of other gifts due to his strained financial situation) and Ayelet HaLevi on Shir HaShirim.
Fine-very fine condition. Minimal aging stains and worming marks. Antiquated leather binding.
