Cloth Cover for the Chazan's Prayer Stand at the Synagogue. Germany. 1873. Rare
Colorful embroidered cloth cover with beaded decorations. On the top, there is a crown held by two children (cherubic images), with the inscription 'שויתי ה' לנגדי תמיד' ['I place Hash-m before me always']. Two lions holding a star of David with the ten commandments embroidered inside are in the middle. The bottom has an embroidered dedication with the donor's details and the year 5633 (from creation). Tassels made of copper threads. Extremely rare!
Description: 53x55 cm. Made of lined linen.
Condition: Moderate-fine. Wine stains. The top part is lacking some of the fringes.
