A RECTANGULAR BRONZE WEIGHT
Iron Age II, 8th century BCE. 30.3 gr., 17.6x14.8x13.1 mm, marked with the Paleo-Hebrew letter ש "Shin" (Shekel). With very nice patina and in very good condition. For similar rectangular weights from Nimrud decorated with scarabs, see: J.E. Curtis and J.E. Reade, Art and Empire, Treasures from Assyria in the British Museum, 1995, p. 195.
