SEGULAH. R. Yitzchak Dov Ha’Levy Bamberger/ Mishnayos Seder Zera’im. Furth 1814.
Handwritten prayer for expectant mothers. Segulah.
Mishnayos Seder Zero’im, the personal copy of R. Yitzchak Dov Bamberger of Wurzburg, with various glosses seemingly in his handwriting.
R. Yitzchak Dov Ha’Levy Bamberger (1807-1878), was one of the most prominent Rabbonim, as well as a most influential orthodox spokesman, of Nineteenth Century Germany. In his youth, he studied at the great Yeshiva of Furth under R. Binyomin Wolf Hamburger. As Rav of Wurzburg, in addition to leading a Yeshiva and fulfilling his communal duties, he published many important works, amongst them Meleches Shomayim, Amira L’Bais Yaakov, Moreh L’Zovchim, Nachlei Devash, Yitzchak Yeranain and others.
On the final page of the Sefer there is a long prayer written for expectant mothers to say for a safe pregnancy and delivery, handwritten by R. Yitzchak Dov’s son and successor R. Nosson Ha’Levy Bamberger.
