R. Meir Auerbach (1815–1878), was born in Poland and served as Rav of several prominent Jewish communities including Kalisch. He was known as the Imrei Binah after his acclaimed sefer. In 1858 he immigrated to Eretz Yisroel, settling in Yerusholayim, where he filled a vital leadership role. He is also famous for establishing the wedding custom in Yerusholayim which does not permit musical instruments, other than percussion, to be played at weddings.
