A book containing sayings, biography and memoires by Boris Schatz. An elegant edition on heavy, art-quality, paper, with prints of good quality (heliogravures) depicting works by Schatz. The text is in Hebrew, the titles of the works are in Hebrew, Yiddish and English. On the binding is a metal plaque with a relief depicting Jews during prayer and the verse "who shall have pity upon Jerusalem …" (Hebrew), after Schatz.
This is copy no. 43 out of a numbered edition of 300 copies. Signed by Schatz on the colophon.
28 pp + [41] plates (preceding each print is a leaf with the print's title), 40 cm. Good condition. Numerous stains. Blemishes to tissue guards. Most of the tissue guards are missing. Binding in good-fair condition, with blemishes and peelings. New spine. Strips of cloth and adhesive tape on the inside of the binding. Pen inscription on the inside of the front binding.
