"A Nation Reborn on its Ancestral Soil", a poster issued by JNF. No printer, designer, or year indicated. [New York, ca. 1940s]. [Design: Otte Wallish].
An Illustrated poster issued by the Jewish National Fund in the United States. The illustration depicts a pioneer holding a hoe and rolling up his sleeve, a Tower-and-Stockade settlement and a tractor plowing a field in the background. The caption "A Nation Reborn on its Soil" is printed at the upper part of the poster and the caption "Jewish National Fund, 111 Fifth Avenue N.Y." is printed at the bottom.
In the catalogue "Otte Wallish: The Face of Land and Nation" (an exhibition catalogue of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, 2015, p. 58), appears a poster, dated 1939, with an identical illustration and the Hebrew caption "Jewish National Fund."
55X84.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Creases and a small number of stains. Tears (some open) mostly in the margins, restored. Linen-backed for display and preservation.
