Photos show: • Settlers transporting construction materials on donkeys to Kfar Etzion. May 1946. • Two new Haganah recruits performing combat exercises inside a ruined house in the Tel Aviv area. December 1947. • Haganah fighter peeping from between two houses in the no-man's-land between Tel Aviv and Jaffa, a grenade in his hand. January 1948. • British soldiers from a Highland Light Infantry regiment, called on to intervene in a violent clash between Arabs and Jews seeking refuge in Jerusalem. February 1948. • Fire raging on Hebron Road in Jerusalem after an exchange of fire between the sides. April 1948. • Group of Haganah fighters in uniform listening to a briefing. March 1948. • Three Haganah fighters, one of them female, at their post at Al-Qastal. 16.5X21.5 cm to 21X25.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains. Creases. Minor blemishes. Pieces of paper and glue traces to verso of some of the photographs. Barcode labels on verso of some of the photographs.
