Seven photographs of Israeli soldiers and Egyptian prisoners in the Negev. War of Independence, 1948-1949.
The photographs portray fighters and prisoners during battles in the Negev: • Egyptian prisoners evacuating an Egyptian stronghold. • Egyptian soldiers escaping with raised hands. • Group of IDF soldiers and Egyptian prisoners in front of the Great Mosque in Beersheba [by Benno Rothenberg]. • IDF soldiers in Negba, October 1948. • An aircraft descending near a military convoy. • IDF soldiers with a mortar by a truck with the inscription "Express Cairo". • A convoy of half-trucks in the Negev.
Information notes for the press are attached to four photographs (English and German) and three photographs are titled by hand on the back (German).
17X12 cm – 25.5X20.5 cm. Good condition. Creases. Some small holes and open tears (small). Some blemishes. Stains. Pieces of adhesive tape to margins of one photograph.
