"Souvenirs from the Orient - the Holy Land", a small-format album with thirty photographs of Palestine by Felix Bonfils. The photographs are mounted on thick sheets (printed beneath each photo is its title, in French), and accompanied by leaves of text about the photographed sites (in French, English and German).
The photographed sites include: Jaffa; Jerusalem's various sites, including the Western Wall, the Valley of Josaphat, David's Tomb, the Mosque of Omar on the Temple Mount, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Gethsemane and the Church of Saint Anne; the Dead Sea, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Mount Carmel, and more.
[1], 1-24, 26-30 text pages + 30 plates of photographs. One text leaf is missing. Photos: 9.5X7.5 cm, leaves: 17X12.5 cm. Gilt edges. Good condition. Some stains and creases. Minor blemishes to binding.
