Letter to Rabbi Baruch HaLevi .. "I received a letter from his brother-in-law, Rabbi Rathenberg. The Gaon Rabbi Chaim HaLevi Soloveitchik: (1813-1818, Otzar HaRabbanim 6090), one of the greatest heads of yeshivas in Lithuania and one of the leaders of his generation, author of Chidushei Rabbeinu Chaim HaLevi. Instill a new way in studying and studying the Torah. Born in Volozhin to his father, Rabbi Yosef Dov Soloveitchik, Rosh Yeshiva of Volozhin and author of Beit HaLevi. He married the daughter of Rabbi Raphael Shapira, head of the Volozhin Yeshiva and grandson of the Netziv, and was appointed head of the yeshiva in Volozhin in the following years, when he was appointed Rabbi of Brisk for his father's place, M. Soloveitchik "The Rabbi of Brisk".
