Ketubah. Rabbi Shaul David Sitteon Dabbah, Buenos Aires, Argentina [1926]
Ketubah, handwritten in Oriental scribal script on the blank paper of Rabbi Shaul Sitteon Dabbah, rabbi and adjudicator of the Sephardic community in Argentina, with his signature. Buenos Aires, Argentina, 23 Adar I, 1926.

Background: Rabbi Shaul David Sitteon Dabbah [1851-1930] was born in Aleppo, Syria. In 1881 he began to serve as rabbi of Ain Tab, and in 1912 he traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina to visit his son who lived there. He was offered the position of rabbi of the Jewish community of immigrants from Aleppo and Damascus in Buenos Aires. He responded favorably, and was active in kosher slaughter. He founded a number of institutions in the city, including "Ahavat Tzedek" and the burial society, "Chessed shel Emet."
