Tzon Kedoshim. Brought to Print by Instruction of the Chozeh of Lublin with a Wondrous Approbation from him.

Novellae and glosses on tractates Zevachim, Menachot, Bechorot, Erchin, Temurah, Meilah by the gaon Rabbi Avraham Chaim Schorr, author of Torat Chaim al HaShas. Lemberg, 1811.

[1] 52, [1] leaf 36 cm. Stefansky, Chassidut 653.

The book was printed by request of the Chozeh of Lublin, as is written on the title page: "This book was brought to print by order of Admor HaRav HaGaon HaGadol Butzina Kadisha Chassida U'Prisha N"Y A"H P"H Ish Eloki Kadosh Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchak HaLevi Horowitz of Lantzut, who resides in Lublin." On the other side of the title page, there is a rare and special approbation from the Chozeh of Lublin in which he reveals a small amount of his holy work, and it is fitting to copy a segment from it: "When I was a youth I had a desire to do a commentary on the order of Kashdim, as the greatness of the mitzvah of dealing with the laws of Kadshim is well-known ... and the order of Kadshim is like a book which has been sealed without being adequately proofread, as are other gemaras with studies and commentaries by the Maharsha"l z"l and the Mahash"a z"l and the Mahar"m z"l. Apparently they did not deal with Kadshim in depth with their disciples because it has not been specifically necessary for generations. I have been very involved with the public, the many needs of the Jewish people, in consultation and with prayers and requests. I was afraid to reject them because Hash-m has helped me work for the good of the Jews. I also became very occupied, and have been unable to do a commentary myself. It was difficult for me because I had no time available for this matter ... and these many years, I have urged some printers to print the book Tzon Kedoshim ..."

Fine condition. Tears in the margins of the title page.
