Author Rabbi Yehudah Navon [1702-1761] son of Rabbi Ephraim Navon, author of Machane Ephraim, was the Raav"d [Rabbi Av Beit Din] of Jerusalem during the time of the Chid"a, one of those who gave an approbation to the Chid"a's Shaar Yosef. The Chid"a brings halachic rulings from Rabbi Navon's Beit Din in his books.

The author Avraham son of Avigdor of Constantinople was a disciple of Rabbi Eliezer son of Yaakov Nachum of Adarinople, author of Chazon Nachum, and was the general rabbi of Constantinople. He passed away c. 1790, and the book was brought to print by his grandson.
