Holocaust: Heter Agunah Signed by Dayanim of the Beis Din for Agunos World War II, Preshburg 1945
In the aftermath of World War II, many women were left without any information on the whereabouts of their husbands. As such, a special Beis Din was established in order to deal with these specific cases, to determine whether or not these women were permitted to remarry.
This heter agunah is signed by
Rabbi Yitzchak Eizek Eichenstin; Av Beis Din of Kivyashed,
Rabbi Simcha Bunim Greenberger; Dayan of Preshburg, and
Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Landa; Av Beis Din of Veretzky and Rosh Av Beis Din of Neitra.
This document is a living testimony to the unimaginable suffering of the holocaust survivors.
