Letter Signed by Admor Menachem Mendel of Strikov to His Chassidim in Eretz Yisrael
A signed, handwritten letter from Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Strikov to his Chassidim in Eretz Yisrael.
Dated 1925, the letter was written during the time that the Admor lived in Zgierz, and gives window to his concern for the livelihood of his Chassidim living in Eretz Yisrael.
Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Strikov (1885 - 1936) was the son of Rabbi Dov Berish of Biala and one of the prominent admorim prior to World War II. He was Admor to thousands of followers. He traveled twice to Eretz Yisrael but never actualized his dream of settling there. Towards the end of his life he moved to Vitebsk where he passed away. Thousands would flock to his kever in Warsaw to daven.
