Rabbi Yosef LeibZussman (December 31, 1922 – December 13, 1999) was a rabbi and Kabbalist in Jerusalem, one of the disciples of Rabbi Moshe Charlap and one of the editors of his writings. He was born in Jerusalem to Rabbi Moshe Chaim in 1923. In his youth he used to eat SeudaShlishit on Shabbat at the house of Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaCohen Kook and study with him. Ever since then he revered Rabbi Kook, quoted him and told stories about him. His primary teacher was Rabbi Moshe Charlap, a student of Rav Kook with whom he was deeply connected and was one of the editors of his book 'Mei Marom'. He studied in the Etz Chaim yeshiva and wrote halachic articles during that time. He also began to study Kabbalah in the kabbalisticSha'arHaShamayim yeshiva and even later delivered classes in Kabbalah there. Over the years he used to deliver a class on the weekly Torah portion to students of the MercazHaRav and AteretCohanim yeshivot, to which he was very connected. In this class he would explain the weekly Torah portion according to the Kabbalah. Even though he was a proponent of Zionism and of the State of Israel Rabbis and Rebbes from all groups admired and respected him, and would come to ask him for advice, to study Kabbalah and to receive blessings.
