A letter on an official letterhead, in the handwriting with the signature and stamp of the Rebbe Rabbi Mordechai Shalom Yosef Freidman author of Knesset Mordechai' of Sadigura. Dated 21 st Av 1948. Regarding confirmation about a 22 year old married woman, the daughter of a chassid from Romania that he knows her and her family to be religious, chassidim and Torah observant. | The Rebbe Rabbi Mordechai Shalom Yosef Friedman [1896-1979] of Sadigura-Przemyszl author of Knesset Mordechai". Appointed as Rebbe at the age of 16. He was a member of the Moetzet Gedolei Hatorah for many years. In 1939 during his visit to Israel he visited his cousin the Rebbe Rabbi Yisrael of Husiyatin. When he was leaving the Rebbe of Husiyatin asked to see his passport, which he then took and put in his pocket to prevent him from returning to Europe. He was thus saved from the Holocaust, and even managed to bring his children to Israel before the war broke out.
