A Letter from Rabbi Elimelech Ashkenazi Av Beit Din of Melbourne to the Rebbe of Tomashov – Father of Rabbi Yehoshua Leifer President of 'Oz V'Hadar'
An interesting letter on an official letterhead in the handwriting and with the signature of Rabbi Elimelech Ashkenazi Av Beit Din of Melbourne to the Rebbe of Tomashov – the father of Rabbi Yehoshua Leifer, founder and president of the 'Oz V'Hadar' Torah empire, on the occasion of the marriage of his son (apparently Rabbi Yehoshua himself). In the letter the Rabbi informs the Rebbe that he arranged a "marriage assistance" delivery for him. | Rabbi Elimelech Ashkenazi [1918-2012] was one of the foremost and last students of the Chochmei Lublin Yeshiva. He had a close relationship with the Rebbes of Belz and Satmar. Served as rabbi of Melbourne, Australia. Lived until close to the age of 100 and was the elder of the Rabbis of the U.S.A. | 20x26 cm. Fold marks. Tiny tears on folds. Overall condition: Good.
