Mitzvat Hash-m. Admors' Signatures

Mitzvat Hash-m. 613 Mitzvot according to the order in the Torah, with Tikkunei Teshuvah and other additions. Kingsburgh, [1857]. The Admors of Pshedbozsh's copy.

Specifications: [1], 100 [7] leaves, 21 cm. The handwritten signature of the Admor Rabbi Emmanuel Woltfreud of Pshedbozsh is on the title page, and with the stamps of his son the Admor Rabbi Avraham Moshe of Pshedbozsh and Rospesha.

The Admor Rabbi Emmanuel Woltfreud of Pshedbozsh [1803-1864], son of the Admor Rabbi Yeshayah of Pshedbozsh, was named Emmanuel as instructed by the Chozeh of Lublin, after his brothers passed away in their youth. He later became the son-in-law of Rabbi Yisrael, son of the Chozeh of Lublin. He was a favorite and very prominent with Rabbi Chaim of Sanz, and beginning in 1850, served as rabbi and Admor of Pshedbozsh. His son, the Admor Rabbi Avraham Moshe Woltfried of Pshedbozsh and Rospesha (1840-1908) suffered greatly from persecutions and plots, both by gentiles and by his Jewish opponents, and enjoyed the support of Rabbi Chaim of Sanz, who wrote, while he was still young, "The dear rabbi Avraham Moshe son of the holy Rabbi Emmanuel z"l will fill the role of his fathers to sit on the seat of the rabbinate, for despite his youth, his face radiates awe and wisdom, as such, I am confident that he will become great as he is praised and strengthened." Served as Admor in Pshedbozsh and Rospesha, which is next to Pietrikov. Refer to Dabrut Chaim (Jerusalem 2015).

Additional owner's stamps: Alter Avraham Yitzchak Rabinowitz, direct male descendant of the Holy Jew of Peshischa, and from the family of the Admors of Pshedbozsh [attached leaf].

Handwritten: Avraham son of Devorah, for the service of the Creator.

Condition: Fine. Aging stains. Tear without lack on one leaf. Simple binding.
