Unique Features: Two title pages, the first with a beautiful copperplate engraving of biblical images, made by Avraham son of Yaakov, the convert who illustrated the famed Amsterdam Haggadah, followed by the regular title page. Additional title page for Vavei HaAmudim.

Background: Chassidim relate that the publication of this complete Shl"ah full of the interior depths of the Torah, in such a grand style, generated such pleasure in the upper and lower worlds that it led to the birth of the Ba'al Shem Tov that very same year. The Admor HaRaya"tz wrote in an Iggeret, "In the year "Nachat," it was reprinted in a grand style, and it was a sign that publication of this holy work caused "nachat ruach" upon high. This same year the light of Israel, our great teacher, the Ba'al Shem Tov was born ... Our great teacher the Ba'al Shem Tov was born the same year that the Shl"ah HaKadosh was printed to light up the world with the light of Hash-m, in Torah and fear of G-d and service of the heart. The disciples of the Ba'al Shem Tov said great is the merit and righteousness that it was printed so grandly, and was popular throughout the Jewish Diaspora, and it merited to be printed the same year that the Ba'al Shem Tov was born." In addition, refer to Keter Shem Tov Shleimot, Kehat edition, 1904, p. 420.

This edition of the Shl"ah has many special attributes. It was printed with exceptional quality and many segulot are attributed to it, since it was printed the same year that the Ba'al Shem Tov was born. It is therefore highly prized by book collectors.
