Magnificent Giant Jug. Damascene Work. Land of Israel, c. 1920

Copper Damascene jug [copper with silver inlay]. Land of Israel, c. 1920s.

Background: These types of jugs were presented as trophies to winners of the soccer championships that took place in the Orient in the 1920s and 30s. Description: Height: 57 cm, maximal diameter: 32 cm. Weight: 5.57 kg. Impressive decorations over the entire surface of the jug depicting a scenes of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, grapes, animals and leaves. All copper with silver inlay.

Condition: Fine.
