Letter from Professor Buber to arrange the date of a meeting in Ben Shemen. Jerusalem, November 2, 1935. 

Specifications: [1] leaf, paper. 21x28 cm. German. In Buber's handwriting and with his signature. 

Content of the Letter: Professor Buber had arrived for a short visit in Israel two days earlier, and was staying with Professor Hugo Bergman in the Rechavia neighborhood of Jerusalem. In this letter, he asks to visit in Ben Shemen in a week's time. He suggests Dr. L. inform him of several possible dates, to allow them to arrange the date of the visit. 

Martin Buber (Vienna 1887 - Jerusalem 1965), educator, researcher, author and philosopher who had a tremendous influence on pre-Holocaust German Jewry. His Zionist and philosophical teachings remain extremely influential to this day. In 1930 he served as an honorary professor at Frankfurt University, until the Nazis rose to power in 1933. The letter before us was written in Jerusalem in 1935 when he came to visit Israel. In 1939 Buber left Germany,   settled in Jerusalem,   and was appointed as a professor at the Hebrew University. 

Condition: Fine condition, fold marks, tiny tears.
