Theodore Roosevelt Jr. (1858-1919) was the 26th president of the United States (1901-1909). A dynamic and colorful personality, with many achievements in various areas of interest. He was the Assistant-Secretary of the Navy, and wrote a book on naval warfare. He resigned to take a command position in the Spanish-American War. Served as governor of New York, and vice president. After President McKinley was assassinated, Roosevelt was appointed president. As president, he began digging the Panama Canal, and increased the US Navy. He led negotiations to end the Russo-Japanese War and won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1906. In 1912 he failed in the presidential race.

Admiral Albert Ross (1846-1925) entered naval school during the American Civil War. He was appointed to several command posts including commander of a training ship. The naval training base he commanded was inaugurated on 1.7.1911. President Taft attended the graduation ceremony of the first 300 students. 

Condition: Very fine condition, except for the effects of humidity and wear to the leaf margins.
