The book contains four articles on the topic of Spanish and Portuguese Jewry: One article is on the topic of Jewish-Spanish noble families and another is about Spanish and Portuguese Jewry (both written by Isaac da Costa). Two of the articles are about the Capadose family, a Jewish family whose members converted to Christianity.
The book contains 44 picture-plates (including a photo of the Capadose family emblem, Jewish objects and documents, etc.) and a folded chart tracing the Capadose genealogy.
vi, [2], 219 pages, [1] leaves + XLIV picture-plates (interspersed with explanatory leaves) + [1] chart (genealogy sketch). 31.5 cm. Overall good condition. Few creases and tiny tears to margins of several leaves. Hardcover with a paper dust jacket. The jacket is in fair condition with stains and coarse tears (some open tears).
