Calling Card of Emile Zola with a Short Letter in his Handwriting
Calling card of Emile Zola, with a short letter handwritten and signed by him. [1898]. French.
Printed on the card are Zola's full name – Emile Zola – and the address "rue de Bruxelles, 21 bis". Zola added a short note (in French): "I received what you sent me. Many thanks and sincere greetings, Emile Zola".
On the back of the card appears a handwritten note: "Refers to communication sent to Zola by Vizetelly re: Dreyfus case, March 1898". (Vizetelly is most probably the publisher and author Henry Vizetelly who translated and published two of Zola's books)].
Calling card: approx. 10.5X6.5 cm, attached to a 19X11.5 cm paper frame. Good condition. Slight stains.
