* Opening Shana Tova card from the Jewish Fighting Brigade - Europe, Rosh HaShana Eve, 1945. The Brigade's logo is on the upper right. The internal page quotes the verse from Michah 5: 'והיה שארית יעקב בקרב עמים רבים כטל מאת ה'... אשר לא יקוה לאיש ולא ייחל לבני אדם'. ['The remnant of Yaakov will be among many nations, like dew from Hash-m ... which is not hoped for by man and not awaited by human.'
* Shana Tova card from the Royal Navy - General Transport. Jewish Unit no. 179. Rosh HaShana eve, 1944. Symbol of a star of David on a shield and the printed inscription, 'שאו ברכה לשנה החדשה - שנת נצחון, שלום וגאולה' ['Carry blessing for the New Year - A Year of Victory, Peace and Redemption']. Filing holes. 7x11 cm.
Both were used. Very fine condition.
