Nechama Bernitzky [1907-1996]: Born in Rishon LeTziyon. In 1925, she was sent to Baghdad where she worked for a year as a kindergarten teacher. She returned to Rishon LeTziyon and worked in a kindergarten located under a synagogue for two years. In 1935, she opened a private Montessori kindergarten in the town, whose method she learned in Vienna. The studies took place according to the Paravel technique - Hebrew in Hebrew and according to the principles of the "natural method" which were established in 1898 in the first kindergarten opened in Rishon LeTziyon. The kindergarten ran until 1951. Many glorious personalities who became famous for their service to the nation in later years had learned in her kindergarten as children, including Yaakov Abramowitz, Aharon Rochovsky, Rena Levine, Yinon Tzlalichin and others.
