Meeting of the "Chaburat HaEmek" Balfouria, 15th of Nissan, [1923]. Group photo of eighty-eight founders and the first settlers of the Balfouria settlement in the Jezreel Valley.
The Balfouria settlement, named for Arthur James Balfour, was founded on the 2nd of November 1922, on the fifth anniversary of the Balfour Declaration. It was established by the American "Kehilat Tzion" society who purchased the land and designated it for soldiers from the Jewish Legion.
