Six lines handwritten by the Rebbe.
Rabbi Yisrael Alter (1895-1977), the son of the 'Imrei Emet' of Gur. In 1940, he escaped Europe and immigrated to the land of Israel with his father. His wife and sons remained in Poland and were murdered by the Nazis. He became the Rebbe of Gur in 1948. He was one of the heads of Moetzet Gedolei Ha'Torah and on eof the leaders of the Haredi community. After hi sdeath, five volumes of his writings were published titled 'Beit Yisrael'.
