Letter Handwritten by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Kock and His Wife to their Daughter and Son-in-Law, the Rebbe of Slonim Rabbi Avraham Weinberg – Prague, 1911
Letter handwritten and signed by the Rebbe Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Kock to his son-in-law Rabbi Avraham Weinberg. On the second page, a letter by the Rebbe's wife to her sick daughter Elka Beracha, handwritten and signed by her.
In his letter, the Rebbe tells his son-in-law how to act to improve his sick wife's health. He also tells him that he told his daughter Esther Glika (the wife of Rabbi Nechemya Alter of Gur) about her sister's situation. Fourteen lines and a signature.
On th second page, a letter handwritten and signed by the Rebbetzen to her daughter Elka Beracha. The Rebbetzen wishes her daughter 9in Yiddish) to get well soon. Seven lines.
On the reverse side of the leaf, the stamp of Rabbi Zvi Hirsch's son: "Yechiel Meir the son of the Rebbe of Prague". This is the stamp of Rabbi Yechiel Meir Morgenstern (1894-1974).
The Rebbe rabbi Zvi Hirsch Morgenstern of Lomazy (1852-1926), the second son of the REbbe Rabbi David Morgenstern of Kock and the grandson of the Kotzker Rebbe. He was the son-on-law of the Rebbe Rabbi Shlomo Yehoshua of Radzymin. In 1873, he became a Rebbe in Kock from which he moved to Lomazy and then to Warsaw. Three of his sons served as Rebbes.
His sons-in-law were Rabbi Nechemya Alter, the son of the 'Sefat Emet' and Rabbi Avraham Weinberg, the Rebbe of Slonim, the addressee of the letter before us.
