A handwritten Ketubah of a bride and groom, Holocaust survivors who got married in 1946 in Bucharest, Romania.
The Ketubah is signed by the Rebbe of Skolen Rabbi Eliezer Zussia Portugal and Rabbi Chaim Mordechai Roller. Both of them were known for their activities for the Holocaust survivors of Romania.
Scribal script. The details were filled in by hand, most likely by Rabbi Roller.
On the reverse side of the Ketubah, a stamp of "The Chief Rabbinate of Cyprus".
Rabbi Eliezer Zussia Portugal – the Rebbe of Skolen (1898-1982) was the son and replacer of Rabbi Yisrael Avraham Av Beit Din of Skolen. He survived the Holocaust and was appointed the rabbi of Bucharest. Then he moved to the USA where he was known as one of the most prominent Rebbes. He was also known for his charity and the charity institutions he had established.
Rabbi Chaim Mordechai Roller (1868-1947, Otzar Ha'Rabbanim 6487) was one of the most prominent rabbis of Romania. His halachic responsa was printed in the three volume sof his book "Be'er Chaim Mordechai Responsa".
