The "Or Chadash" Yeshiva – a Rare Important Letter Signed by the Founders the Heads of the Yeshiva, with an Addition Handwritten and Signed by Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld – 1917
An interesting, important letter by the rabbis of the Or Chadash Yeshiva of Jerusalem, to "the lauded well-known physician" Dr. Aharon Meir Mazya about the support of the yeshiva students.
The complete letter is written in red ink and is signed by Rabbi Shalom Leib Eisenbach and Rabbi Shmuel Hillel Sheinkar. The letter contains a list of the students of the yeshiva. On the lower part of the letter, an addition of two lines handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld (the father-in-law of Rabbi Sheinkar), who was the head of the yeshiva for a certain period of time.
On the reverse side of the letter, the Jerusalemite activist Rabbi Ze'ev Shachor added several handwritten lines and signed them.
The letter is written on the nice, official stationery of the 'Or Chadash' Yeshiva. Dated the 23rd of Elul 1917.
Condition: Good. Folding marks. The ink has smeared in several places. The margins of the leaf are worn and torn.
