A folded leaf, written on two large pages in dense script with a very long approbation with many Divrei Torah given by the writer Rabbi Shimon Deutsch to his friend Rabbi Naftali Sofer for the book "Mateh Naftali". The approbation has never been printed.
A very long letter with important content. More than sixty lines per page.
The author of the book, Rabbi Naftali Sofer (1811-1899) was born in Pressburg and was circumcised by the Chatam Sofer. He studied in the yeshiva of the Chatam Sofer and was his close disciple. In the preface to his book "Mateh Naftali", which was printed in 1863, he writes: "I have written in my books words of Mussar that I had heard in my youth from the holy teacher and rabbi … the Chatam Sofer…"
The writer of the approbation, Rabbi Shimon Deutsch (1814-1878), was one of the leaders of the disciples of the "Chatam Sofer" who immigrated to the Land of Israel. H eimmigrated to the Land of Israel in 1842. In 1856 he was on eof the founders of the "Shomtei Ha'Chomot" Kollel of the Hungarian immigrants (Kollel Ungarin). He was also known as "Rabbi Shimon of Pressburg".
As a leading disciple of the Chatam Sofer, he copied many of his books of novellae. He himself authored the books "Berachot Mi'Zion" and "Shadayim Sofdim" (eulogies for the Chatam Sofer and the Ketav Sofer). In 2005, the book "Berachot Mi'Zion – Imrei Shefer" on the Berachot tractate was published according to a manuscript he left.

Condition: Good-Fair. The margins of the leaf are worn and torn with slight damage to text.
