Tehillim with Ma'amadot – Slavita, 1833 – a Rare Edition that has Never been seen in Auctions
Tehillim with Ma'amadot. Slavita, 1833. Printed by Rabbi Shmuel Avraham Shapira, the son of Rabbi Pinchas of Kovitz (served as a Rebbe since 1856).
That year, two editions were printed in Slavita. The common edition contained commentaries. However, in the edition before us, the verses were printed on the complete leaf, without the commentaries on the lower part of the page. this edition was intended for reading the verses as a prayer rather than learning them with the commentaries.
The "Yehi Ratozn" after the saying of the Psalms and the prayer for the sick were printed on the first pages before the Psalms and after them, the "Yehi Ratzon" prayers that were said during Tikkun Leil Hoshana Rabba.
An additional title page for the Ma'amadot.
Copies of this edition hardly exist. The National Library has only one copy of this rrae edition.
4, 96 leaves. The title page, leaves 2-3 and the last leaf of the book have been completed with a photocopy.
Condition: Very Good. New, impressive leather binding. A few minor moth signs throughout the book. The margins of some of the leaves are slightly torn. Time stains and natural wear.
