The book 'Ir Giborim' and the book 'Petichot Ve'She'arim' by Rabbi Shlomo Efrayim Luntshitz. Zholkva, 1799. The two books are bound together. Some of the letters of both title pages are in red ink.
On the upper part of the title page, a signature (weak yet readable) "… Shlomo Zalman Lifshitz". The handwriting is identical to his handwriting with which we are familiar (attached material). His signatures are extremely rare!
Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Lifshitz (1765-1839), one of the geniuses of his generation, the first rabbi of Warsaw since 1821. 
In his youth he studied with Rabbi Yosef "Ha'Tzaddik", Av Beit Din of Posen. Rabbi Lifshitz was the first rabbi who was officially appointed as the rabbi of Warsaw. He was among the leaders of the struggle against the Jewish Enlightenment. The friend of Rabbi Akiva Eiger and Rabbi Ya'akov of Lissa, with whom he corresponded. Author of 'Chemdat Shlomo' on the Talmud and the 'Chemdat Shlomo' Responsa on the Shulchan Aruch. 
He is buried in the cemetery of Warsaw and many come to his grave to pray and be blessed. 
An additional rabbinical signature: "…Aharon". 
21, 20, 48 leaves. 
Condition: good. Wear. Moth signs on some of the leaves.
